Case Study – Big Talk Education

Initial Conversations

Conversations with Lynnette started as her business is expanding rapidly and she wanted to ensure her Social Media activity support this.  Due to the nature of the business we agreed time and effort would be spent focusing on Twitter and LinkedIn.

Activity

The initial training session with Lynnette and her team focused on the basics of LinkedIn, how to use the site, what to say, who to connect with and what the site was for.  We also covered the practicalities of Twitter and the basics of the site. Both Lynnette and her team members were new to the site so we covered tweeting, who to follow, how to find accounts of interest and Twitter etiquette.  As the team has grown an advanced session on Twitter has also taken place with a new member explaining a commonly used Social Media dashboard and how to use it.  This ensures the activity can continue to grow and support the business.

Results

Results for the business will start to show when Twitter activity begins, currently they’re in the development stages still. LinkedIn has assisted the team to continue broadcasting their message and kept relationships current.

Feedback

“As a small organisation we specialise in what we’re good at ~ delivering sex education! However in order to keep ahead of the game with our business heads on, knowledge and skills around social media is essential, so we contacted Karen at Evolve. Having just increased Emma’s hours to cover office duties, which include social media and marketing Karen tailor made an individual session with her to suit our availability and location. Emma was wary having been a Facebook devotee so Karen worked with her to build her confidence with Twitter and Hootsuite.

To be social media confident and aware is essential for businesses, the work Karen has done with us previously and more recently ensures we have a presence nationally and internationally.” Lynnette Smith, Big Talk Education.
